Although it is rare for anyone to have a reaction to therapeutic grade essential oils, one must bear in mind that some essential oils are very potent and may cause irritation to the skin. With that in mind, it is suggested you test an area of skin using a single drop of any essential oil you wish to try before applying it to a larger area.

But if you do get a drop in your eye, rinse with high quality olive oil, not water. This will helpĀ to quickly alleviate the stinging feeling.
